So, you were contemplating going over - well here's some more of what you missed out on......
Elanora skatepark - the shallow end with concrete coping (around 8ft) that feeds out of the pipeline.

Gold Coast OSS - Freeman - thanks for showing up and keeping me company. Great skating, hope to catch up again in the future for more sessioning.

Hutchy and Campo down in the bottom of the bowl leading into the pipe showing the scale of things.

Hutchy getting up BS in the pipe

looking back from deep ends up into the pipe and back into the shallow end

Looking into the pipe from the other end

Here's some more pics at Nerang Skatepark under the lights - took a pretty heavy slam onto the facewall coping and could barely walk after that, let alone skate and struggled for all the next day to get around, but hey after 8hrs walking around Brisbane I wasn't going to let that stop me skate Elenora too!
The locals were absolutely ripping this place up - the speed they skate at is incredible and the moves they were tearing out in some crazy places like grinds, boardslides and airs over the tunnel entrance was insane, plus this one local guy was shredding long grinds over the TACO - here's some pics including front and back views of his grinds. He's the same guy pulling air over the tunnel entrance that campo001 posted already.
Bowl has gritty concrete coping and is great fun to rip snarling grinds into.

Crazy - what was I thinking? Shocked Mrs decided it would be nice after 3 hrs sleep, a long trip in a tin can across the ocean and arriving hungry and tired to take a road trip down to Byron Bay via Tweed Heads.....Then I could go skate!!! Very Happy
So, around 2pm local time I was really tired but this happy to see Varsity Lakes skatepark again!!

It took a while to find my legs so I played around in the mini halfpipe end for a while first

OK getting a bit more serious - starting to get my carve action going in the deep end corner next to the cradle

Here I am exiting the cradle which is really tight, really fast and you have to just keep your head about you or you just slam

Crave grinds starting to happen as I found a good line to get around to enter the cradle frontside

End of session playing around carving and kickturning off the back of the cradle

The transition on the back walls was really steep and had plenty of vert and is one of the quickest transitions I've ever dropped into in a very long time! Whippy to say the least. Dropping in from that Taco was scary! Shocked
Check out the line down the wall and see where it actually starts to curve

Next time lads - just book your flights and come skate with the Toneman! You definitely need a week at least as I barely managed to get around - totally missing Pizzey park and a huge assortment of all sorts of terrain from big and gnarly to small and mediocre - but fun! Cool
These pics pretty much sum up what I looked like at the end of every sesh! Wasted, but oh so happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

@ Lobotomy - Elenora is nicknamed Hellanora by some of the OGs on the Goldie. The pics don't do justice to how big some of the walls are.
Big transitions (11ft) make it pretty easy to get some serious speed up, mixed in with some odd transition blends which feel like kinks but are actually just where one level drops or a wall has a corner etc.
Most fun was Nerang as the bowl is smaller than Papakura.
Blasting full tilt through the tunnel and getting about 3-4 kickturns on the way through was a rad feeling. Getting over vert was freaky as you felt so loose on your toes. I was stoked to get about a foot past the halfway mark considering it was about an 11ft radius.
Hutchy was tearing it up and was even flipping fakie ollies over vert hahaha
