You Can Say That Again...

"I was a real skateboarder, not a gifted skateboarder. I represented that skateboarding was fun to do by being terrible at it." - Lance Mountain.

Welcome

Welcome to Frontside Grind, the home of Kiwi Old School Skateboarding, circa '73 to now! Named in honour of the move that truly defines anyone as an Old Schooler, (remember the first time you felt that subtle bite of metal on coping as you watched your wheels hit the air above the lip?) this site is dedicated to preserving the past, present and future of old school skateboarding here in New Zealand.
You'll find information on this page will change fairly regularly, so be sure to keep visiting back here for updates.
Feel free to sign up and join in the forums for some on-line sessions with fellow old schoolers.
As time goes by we will be developing a 'Virtual Museum' of the roots of New Zealand Skateboarding. If you have anything to share in the way of photos, product knowledge or memories of significant people and places, e-mail it to me for inclusion.
Special mention to Tony Hallam, David Austin and Andrew Moore for the use of various photos used in the rotating image in the site header. Thanks guys, couldn't have done it without you!
Once again, enjoy the site and feel free to play your part and keep the stoke alive!
